P.S. We hope you are well on your way towards full Covid-19 vaccination.
Nothing new to report on the resumption of our dance parties, but we wanted to wish you a belated Happy Valentine’s Day. We hope you expressed your love to sweethearts, parents, family members and friends.
NOTE: The following is a Public Service Announcement. We will include such notices from time to time as an informational resource only.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all our fans. We hope you had enjoyable moments during the holidays. We’re looking forward to a better, make that MUCH BETTER, 2021!
We are saddened by the passing of Ed Ainsley, a member of the R&B Line Dance Group who usually attended Nancy Brennen’s Monday class. Ed was a huge music fan, especially the oldies. He was a member of a couple of singing groups here in The Villages and enjoyed Uptown Jammin’s dance parties. We will miss him.
Although we didn’t have dance parties in 2020, we would like to thank our seasonal pass holders (you know who your are) for their contributions to the scholarship fund. Uptown Jammin’ supports combined programs of The African American Club of The Villages and the Sophisticated Gents of Florida, as well as the William F. Crumel Jr. Foundation.
We will continue monitoring CDC and local health officials’ guidance and will let you know when we can resume our dance parties. Please stay safe.

As we approach the end of a very challenging year, we wanted to take this opportunity to THANK YOU for being committed Uptown Jammin’ fans. While we haven’t been able to meet and dance due to the pandemic, we have tried to stay in touch through our Newsletters.
We’ve also used this “downtime” to improve our equipment and communications platforms. In order to help defray the costs associated with these improvements, we are increasing our Advanced Ticket price from Seven to Eight dollars per person. “Will-Call” tickets (at the door) will remain $10 per person. For season tickets, contact Mamie Parker. (NOTE: These price changes are reflected on our website.)
In response to the many inquiries as to when we might resume, quite frankly, WE DON’T KNOW. We are monitoring the situation related to COVID-19 and paying attention to guidance from local health officials and the CDC. We continue to have high hopes that 2021 will bring about better times. We will communicate our plans with you through email and our website as soon as we have a better handle on when we might resume our dance party.
Meanwhile, we’ve added more pictures to the website which we hope you will enjoy.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your families. Please stay safe!

As the holiday season is upon us, we at Uptown Jammin’ are thinking about you. Though this Thanksgiving may be different than others, we hope you all will have an enjoyable holiday. We continue to have much for which to be thankful.
Our resumption date continues to be a dynamic and moving target. But rest assured, when the time is right, we will be ready! Currently, we are looking at February 2021 as a possibility. In the meantime we encourage you and your friends to visit our website at uptownjammin.com. Throughout the season, we hope to add some photos that should foster fond memories of days gone by. In the months to come, you may see pics of yourselves and family.
Happy Thanksgiving from Lawrence & Bill!
We would like to thank all those who joined us for our golf cart songfest on Saturday, September 5th. The well attended event was a great way to celebrate Labor Day Weekend. We had you “Dancin’ in the Street” and we thank you for your positive feedback.

Here’s for your listening pleasure! ENJOY!
Hello to all of you. We are back from our Caribbean cruise and look forward to seeing you this Friday. We had a great time as you will see when we project the pictures at a future Uptown Jammin’. There may be a few tickets available for this Friday’s mashup, so you still have a chance to get in on the fun.
We encourage you to use our new email address to request songs and communicate with us generally. Using the email address enables us to respond to your song requests in real time as the dance party is in progress (1 song per request). We will accept song requests during the first half of the party (6:00 to 7:30pm). You’ll also enjoy receiving shout-outs for birthdays, anniversaries, visiting family and guests. Try it; you’ll like the results.
Hope to see you Friday, February 21, 2020.
Next Dance: January 17, 2020
To all our members, dance instructors, families, friends and guests, welcome to 2020. It was a great 2019, and the end of the year holiday festivities were no exception. Join us at Club Sea Breeze for our first 3rd Friday of the New Year. Tickets are still available, but don’t wait – get yours today….it’s sure to be happening!
2019 highlights include reaching platinum status on donations to local scholarship programs in our area. We had our first cruise in March of last year (we’ll do it again next month aboard Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas). We made some tweaks and changes to our half-time activities to allow you more time on the dance floor. Members have repeatedly let us know that Uptown Jammin’ is a must see for their visiting families and guests.
Your support has allowed us to continue our twice monthly dance party for 2020.
